Milano Design Week 2026: Day 1 & 2 Live from the Global Stage

The energy in Milan is electric. As we wrap up the first 48 hours of Salone del Mobile 2026, it's clear that this year is about more than just furniture, it’s about the soul of materials and the height of Italian heritage. For our clients in the UAE, we've been scouting the most unique novelties from our exclusive brands Cattelan Italia and Arketipo Firenze.

Cattelan Italia: A New Era of Material Expression

Walking into the Cattelan Italia exhibit, you immediately feel a shift toward a softer, more organic contemporary style. The 2026 Collection is a masterclass in variety, yet it feels perfectly cohesive.

• Fluid Shapes: We saw a move away from rigid geometry toward soft, nature-inspired lines.

• The Hero Material: The Taj Mahal Keramik is the undisputed star. Seeing it in person reveals a luminous, champagne-toned surface with amber veining that brings a warm luxury to dining tables and sideboards.

• Evolving Language: From the expanded Ruby family of sofas to the curved Craig modules, the focus is on creating "welcoming" spaces. It’s furniture that invites you to stay, perfectly meeting the needs of modern, high-end living in the Middle East.

Arketipo Firenze: An Oasis in the Sky

We left the busy halls of Rho Fiera for a location that defines "Excellence." Arketipo chose the rooftop of the iconic Torre Breda, a 117-meter-high masterpiece of Milanese architecture to unveil their latest work.

• The Venue: 29 floors above the city, the atmosphere was suspended in time. Far from the hectic crowds, we explored the collection with the Alps on the horizon and the Isola district at our feet.

• The Collection: Being so close to the clouds felt fitting for a brand so focused on "The Art of Comfort." The new sofa silhouettes and coffee tables reflect a heritage of craftsmanship that refuses to be rushed. Every stitch and leather finish felt like a secret shared between the artisan and the city skyline.

What’s Next?

These first two days have confirmed one thing: 2026 is the year of tactile luxury. From the "curved" ceramic technology of Cattelan to the architectural presence of Arketipo, we are hand-selecting pieces that don't just fill a room—they define it.

Stay tuned as we continue our journey through Milano. The best is yet to come.
